Officials Delay Decision in Acupressure Sex Case
Prosecutors need more information before deciding whether to charge a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman during an acupressure treatment session, a representative of the district attorney’s office said Friday.
Shin Higashiura, 55, of Laguna Niguel was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of digital penetration by fraud after a woman filed a complaint, said Orange County sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino. Investigators are trying to determine whether there are other victims, he said.
Higashiura is not a licensed physician, nor is he licensed to offer acupuncture or acupressure treatments, Amormino said.
Higashiura is in County Jail on an immigration hold, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Susan Schroeder.
