Budget Bunglers
Re “$10-Million Budget Loss Expected to Cut Services,” Sept. 18, about a budget shortfall in Ventura County: It would seem to me that the people we taxpaying citizens have elected to run our affairs for us, while we’re busy making the bucks to exist and provide for our families and, incidentally, paying their salaries, are not doing a very good job.
From our senators and representatives who can vote billions for handouts to countries like Egypt and Afghanistan down to local mayors and council people who can decide what is done with our rubbish, they ought to be smart and able enough to find the money to keep open our hospital emergency rooms and clinics that are already too few and far between.
