North Korean Nuclear Issue to Be Discussed

The Security Council has agreed to discuss North Korea’s nuclear crisis Wednesday, a day before the nation’s withdrawal from a key nonproliferation treaty becomes final, diplomats said.
The United States has been pressing the council to adopt a statement condemning North Korea for failing to meet its obligations to prevent the spread of nuclear arms. But China, which has close ties to North Korea, had been refusing to discuss it.
