Our Sarcasm Meter Went Off the Charts

I am so glad that Martha Burk has taken the opportunity to use the war in Iraq to further her cause of wealthy Southern women, who have never worn a uniform other than their debutante ball gown, being able to play golf with their husbands.

I can’t imagine just how “appalling” it can be for our servicewomen in the midst of a war, what with angry Iraqis shooting bullets and lobbing grenades at them and all, but apparently it’s as equally appalling to not be able to shoot par among the azaleas in Georgia.

If this war continues past Masters weekend, maybe Martha can stage her next demonstration on behalf of our servicewomen on, oh, let’s say Rodeo Drive. I’m sure on their government salary, when our servicewomen get home they’ll be flocking to Beverly Hills to spend all that hard-earned combat pay -- just after they become members at Augusta.
