U.S. Military Volunteers

Re “Marines Win Posthumous Citizenship,” April 3: As a combat veteran of World War II, I find it sad and pathetic that U.S. military services have to recruit thousands of aliens to provide manpower for the military. Where are all the flag wavers who preach patriotism? When are President Bush and Congress going to step up to the plate to show leadership and ask for sacrifice? If the U.S. can’t get a volunteer military from 300 million U.S. citizens, then it is time for a draft.
