Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Florez -- a rising star whom critics have compared to the young Pavarotti -- will be among the guest stars appearing at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion for the third annual Placido Domingo & Friends Concert and Gala on May 13.
Also scheduled to join Domingo onstage at the fund-raiser for the Los Angeles Opera are opera singers Renee Fleming and Denyce Graves, as well as celebrities Kristen Chenoweth, Hugh Jackman and Audra MacDonald. John Williams will serve as conductor for the gala evening, and Mel Gibson is honorary gala chair.
Tickets to the concert range from $35 to $250, with gala tickets including cocktail reception, silent auction and dinner ranging from $1,500 to $5,000 apiece.
