Troops in Gulf Region Get Income Tax Break

The U.S. military based in Iraq and the surrounding region will be exempt from paying taxes on the income they earn while serving in the combat zone, the U.S. Treasury Department said.
“Relieving members of the military and their families from concerns about their taxes is a small token of the appreciation we owe them,” Treasury Secretary John W. Snow said.
