Secretary of State Colin L. Powell said Washington did not have a list of nations it plans to attack, as he tried to quell speculation that the United States may move on from Iraq to such nations as Iran and Syria.

U.S. officials have accused those two countries of supporting terrorism and seeking weapons of mass destruction.

“The United States does not have some plan or some list with nations on the list that we’re going to go attack one after another,” Powell told Pakistan Television. The State Department released a transcript.
