Foreign Airlines Are Cut From Military Contract

Congress approved a compromise as part of a war spending bill to cut foreign-controlled airlines out of a key U.S. military contract, but gave the White House flexibility to waive the restriction in certain conditions.
The provision was narrowed by House-Senate negotiators to ease the potential effect on Germany’s DHL Worldwide Express and its U.S. firm, after the White House expressed concern that tighter limits could affect Middle East airlift operations.
