Champagne Egly-Ouriet Blanc de Noir Grand Cru ‘Cuvee Vieilles Vignes’

Share

There’s Champagne and there’s Champagne. This is the one I drink at New Year’s, but it’s a great bottle to mark any occasion. Made from Pinot Noir vines more than 50 years old growing in grand cru vineyards in Ambonnay, it’s a pure pleasure to drink. Skeins of fine bubbles, a crisp acidity and deep concentrated flavor, not to mention a gorgeous creamy texture, make this a champagne to treasure. Definitely worth the splurge; small wonder it’s been dubbed the poor man’s Bollinger.
