Bonuses May Threaten AMR Labor Savings
From Bloomberg News
American Airlines and its parent AMR Corp. may have put the $1.8 billion in labor savings granted this week at risk by disclosing retention bonuses and pension protection for executives on the last day most employees were voting on the cuts.
Unions representing pilots, flight attendants, mechanics and other ground workers said they consulted attorneys about their options. The Transport Workers Union, which agreed to $620 million in cuts, said it is reconsidering whether to sign the pact.
