Joya is jumping on Fridays

So my niece is becoming a scenester. On Easter Sunday, she sidles up to me and says, “Can you get me on the list to the Lounge?” The hottie, who was crowned Miss Teen Long Beach in 2001, says the Garden of Eden on Thursdays is off the hook and Joya’s bouncing on Fridays. Ah geez.... We hear Tangerine’s gonna be on the scene. The peachy new restaurant and wine bar is expected to open in May at the old location of O2 on the Sunset Strip. Tangerine’s creating an old-style restaurant with modern twists, featuring signature dishes from famed restaurants of the ‘20s, ‘30s and ‘40s.... Singer-songwriter Joe Firstman’s been packing ‘em in at the Mint on Pico Boulevard on Tuesdays. Fans include John Corbett and Rosanna Arquette.... Holy cow, you don’t want to miss the Viper Room this week. Tonight, it’s Sign of the Fox, the Ours and James Hall’s Pleasure Club; Friday and Saturday, the WeHo club’s booked famous surprise guests, and Sunday, it’s Palo Alto with Tantric’s Hugo Ferreira unplugged. Shazam.

Soul or shock, take your pick

Calling all trippy mods: Shout!, a ‘60s-soul dance club, is now at the Echo on Thursdays, and the X-rated electroclash group Dirty Sanchez is coming to the Echo Park nightclub on May 2. And we hear Hypnotic Recordings is releasing Sanchez’s EP, “Really Rich Italian Satanists.” OK, so that’s like the best title ever.... We finally caught up with Perfect World Entertainment’s Jamie Brown, the Boogie Knights frontman-turned-entrepreneur. Brown tells me Metalshop just finished a TV pilot and get this: The Boogie Knights performed at Jenna and Barbara Bush’s 21st birthday bash late last year. Brown’s got an 8-by-10 glossy with the prez to prove it. Hollywood, she does get around.
