Dr. Seuss’ Widow Gives $1 Million to University

Audrey S. Geisel, widow of Theodor Geisel, the children’s book writer popularly known as Dr. Seuss, has donated $1 million to expand UC San Diego’s Faculty Club.
“I wanted to help with the expansion of the Faculty Club because it is the heart of the campus -- a place where faculty, staff and students can come together to exchange ideas and learn from one another,” she said in a statement. Geisel, president of Dr. Seuss Enterprises, is a founding member of the Faculty Club.
