84 Prisoners Escape Through Tunnel

Eighty-four prisoners escaped from a maximum-security prison in northeastern Brazil through a 50-yard tunnel they dug to the jungle outside, police said. Only three of them were quickly recaptured.
The inmates burrowed under two buildings that housed inmates and beyond a prison wall topped with watchtowers.
