Web Cams Keep Eye on Classrooms, Hallways

From Times Wire Reports
Students in Biloxi public schools started classes this week under the eyes of Web cams that will keep track of every classroom and hallway.
Officials said they believed Biloxi was one of the first districts in the nation to install cameras -- more than 500 -- in every classroom.
Biloxi started installing the cameras two years ago.
The camera installation is a precaution, and students and teachers say they feel safer, Deputy Supt. Robert Voles said.
The cameras were paid for with casino revenue received by the district, which has 6,500 students.
