Judge Settles Workers’ Lotto Conspiracy Claim

A state judge settled a dispute among a group of hospital workers, ruling that a New Jersey man and his wife were the sole winners of $25 million in the state’s lottery, a lawyer said.
The judge ruled that Cornell and Teri Davis won the March 14 Big Game Mega Millions drawing. The Davises were sued by 20 hospital workers who regularly bought lottery tickets. The suit also named hospital worker Jamal Townes, one of the group’s ticket buyers, saying he had won the lottery but had conspired with the Davises to hide his winnings.
The judge ruled that the Davises had won and that the workers did not prove their conspiracy claim, Townes’ lawyer said.
