Chief Medical Examiner Is Wanted in Wisconsin

From Times Wire Reports

Santa Clara County’s chief medical examiner is facing arrest in Wisconsin for allegedly stealing books from his former employer and then failing to appear in court.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Wisconsin, Gregory Schmunk took five medical textbooks that belonged to the county. They were valued at $406.73 when he left his job as medical examiner for a northeastern Wisconsin county in 1999, according to the complaint.

Schmunk, 48, acknowledged Monday that he took the books, but said it was because Brown County owed him $2,500 for extra work that he had performed.
