Hostages of Islamists May Be Freed Soon

Algerian militants may release 14 European hostages as early as next week, said an official from Mali, where they are being held.
The hostages -- of whom nine are German, four Swiss and one Dutch -- are thought to be held by Algerian militants known as the Salafist Group for Call and Combat, who are fighting for a purist Islamic state.
