U.N. Victim Is Found at Hospital
A woman from the Philippines listed as killed by the truck bombing of the U.N. headquarters in Baghdad has been found alive in a hospital, officials said Thursday.
Marilyn Manuel has been taken off the list of those confirmed dead in Tuesday’s attack, which Iraqi police said killed at least 24 people and injured at least 100.
Those confirmed dead include Sergio Vieira de Mello of Brazil, the head of the U.N. mission in Iraq.
Others include Nadia Younes of Egypt; Renam Farra of Jordan; Ranillo Buenaventura of the Philippines; Arthur Helton, a prominent New York immigration lawyer and senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations; Richard Hooper of Walnut Creek, Calif.; Jean-Selim Kanaan of Egypt; Chris Klein-Beekman of Canada; Alya Souza of Iraq; Martha Teas of the United States; and Fiona Watson of Britain.
