Priest Who Admitted Sex Abuse Found Slain

A retired Roman Catholic priest who admitted in 1995 that he molested three altar boys in the 1960s was found beaten to death at his home in Lexington.
An autopsy found that Joseph Pilger, 78, died from multiple blunt force injuries, according to the Fayette County coroner.
Pilger pleaded guilty to sexual abuse in 1995 for abusing three altar boys in 1968 and 1969, when he was their pastor in Morganfield, Ky. He was sentenced to five years’ probation.
