A plan with a pedigree
This is a classic John Woolf-designed Hollywood Hills home, although it is more like New Orleans architecture than the Hollywood Regency style that became synonymous with the work of Woolf and his son, Bob.
From the late ‘30s, when this house was built, until a few years after the elder Woolf died in 1980 and his son kept the office going, the Woolfs designed hundreds of houses in the L.A. area. Among them were dozens for Hollywood greats. From his home in Santa Barbara, Bob Woolf recalled: “We worked for Bob Hope, John Wayne, Agnes Moorehead, the Gershwins and Cary Grant when he was married to Barbara Hutton.”
The Hollywood Regency look -- with its mansard roof, one-story plans and porthole windows -- is back in vogue and, along with it, other styles by the Woolfs are gaining in popularity again.

Features: There is a formal living room and a separate dining room. The paneled den has floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and opens onto the lawn and pool. There are terraces off the bedrooms.
