UC Santa Barbara gave up its fewest number of points in nearly a decade in a 66-36 home victory over Westmont College on Wednesday night.

The Gauchos (3-2) held Westmont (3-3), an NAIA school, to only 24.1% shooting and no three-point baskets in five attempts. It was the fewest points allowed by a UCSB team since a 53-33 win over Utah State in January 1994.

Cecil Brown scored 11 of his game-high 16 points in the second half. The Gauchos, who shot only 40.7% in the first half, warmed up to finish at a 50%. Bryan Whitehead added 10 points for UCSB; Cameron Goettsche had 11 rebounds.
