General Electric Co.’s NBC Studios was sued by the creators of the TV show “Will & Grace,” who claim that the studio negotiated unfavorable terms for broadcasting rights to the series.

David Kohan and Max Mutchnick, creators of the show about a gay lawyer and his straight interior designer roommate, allege that the studio failed to seek the highest price for the rights to broadcast the show when it gave the rights to its own network.

Kohan and Mutchnick claim in a lawsuit filed Thursday in Los Angeles County Superior Court that NBC Studios and NBC didn’t negotiate in good faith because they were looking out for the financial interest of their parent company.

The creators say the studio didn’t consider peddling the show to other networks.

“This behavior by NBC and the entities it controls is emblematic of the wrongful behavior of networks when they also own and control the production entity,” the suit alleges.

Jamie French, an NBC spokesman, didn’t immediately return a call seeking comment.
