Boy, 11, Sentenced to 18 Years in Toddler’s Death
An 11-year-old boy who admitted he fatally beat a toddler with a baseball bat and dumped him face down in a drainage ditch was sentenced to up to 18 years in the custody of the juvenile justice system.
The boy told a judge that he brutalized the 3-year-old because the toddler was bothering him and wanted to use his scooter, people who attended the closed juvenile proceeding reported.
The boy pleaded guilty to kidnapping and murder and is expected to be sent out of state to a special children’s mental health facility.
