Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., whose software repels computer viruses and hackers, agreed to acquire closely held Zone Labs for $205 million.

The price includes $113 million in cash and $92 million in stock, the Ramat Gan, Israel-based company said.

Six-year-old Zone Labs of San Francisco makes software called ZoneAlarm that is designed to protect PCs from attacks by hackers or malicious programs.

Check Point’s profit has fallen in the last eight quarters as Cisco Systems Inc., Netscreen Technologies Inc. and others have introduced more products with so-called firewalls to protect computer networks from intrusion.
