Arrowhead Pond Operations Shift

A company owned by Broadcom Chairman Henry Samueli officially took over management of the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim on Tuesday.

A federal Bankruptcy Court last week approved a pact that transferred management from the bankrupt Covanta Energy, formerly Ogden Entertainment, to Samueli’s newly formed Anaheim Arena Management.

Under the terms of the deal, Anaheim Arena Management will assume all operating costs and about $45 million in debt, which represents a roughly $100-million write-down in debt from construction costs and about $30 million in accumulated losses since the Pond opened 10 years ago.
