Canyon Blaze Was Arson, Officials Say
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A blaze that scorched about 15 acres in Laguna Canyon was arson, authorities said Wednesday.
The fire started about two miles east of Coast Highway shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday, said Capt. Stephen Miller, spokesman for the Orange County Fire Authority. There were no injuries, and no structures were damaged. A man seen leaving the area behind the substation was detained for questioning but is not a suspect, Miller said.
