The Defense Department last week also identified the following American military personnel killed in Iraq:

Jarrod W. Black, 26, of Peru, Ind.; sergeant, Army. Black was killed Dec. 12 when his convoy was hit by an improvised explosive device in Ar Ramadi, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 34th Armor Regiment, based at Ft. Riley, Kan.

Jeffrey F. Braun, 19, of Stafford, Conn.; private first class, Army. Braun died Dec. 12 of a nonhostile gunshot wound in Baghdad. He was assigned to Battery B, 2nd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, based at Ft. Bragg, N.C.

Marshall L. Edgerton, 27, of Rocky Face, Ga.; specialist, Army. Edgerton was killed Dec. 11 when his camp in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, was attacked with an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to Company A, 82nd Signal Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division, based at Ft. Bragg, N.C.

Rian C. Ferguson, 22, of Taylors, S.C.; specialist, Army. Ferguson died Dec. 14 when he fell from the light medium tactical vehicle in which he was a passenger near Quinn, Iraq. He was assigned to the Regimental Support Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, based at Ft. Carson, Colo.

Christopher J. Holland, 26, of Brunswick, Ga.; specialist, Army. Holland was part of a dismounted patrol when his unit was ambushed with small-arms fire Wednesday in Baghdad. He was assigned to Battery A, 4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Armored Division, based at Smith Barracks, Germany.

Nathan W. Nakis, 19, of Corvallis, Ore.; specialist, Army National Guard. Nakis was in a convoy returning to Mosul, Iraq, on Tuesday when he lost control of his vehicle after driving through an oil-soaked area. He was assigned to Company B, 52nd Engineer Battalion (Heavy), Army National Guard, based in Albany, Ore.

Kenneth C. Souslin, 21, of Mansfield, Ohio; private first class, Army. Souslin died of noncombat-related injuries Monday at Baghdad International Airport. He was assigned to the 440th Signal Company, 22nd Signal Brigade, V Corps, based in Darmstadt, Germany.

Kimberly A. Voelz, 27, of Carlisle, Pa.; staff sergeant, Army. Voelz was responding to an explosive ordnance disposal call in Iskandariyah, Iraq, on Dec. 14 when an improvised explosive device detonated. She was assigned to the 703rd Explosive Ordnance Detachment, based at Ft. Knox, Ky.
