Official Argues Against Opening Dean’s Records

The state attorney general asked a state court to dismiss a complaint that seeks to open the gubernatorial records of Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean, arguing that the former governor’s papers are not subject to the state’s public records law.
At issue are 145 boxes of papers that Dean ordered sealed when he left office in January. Judicial Watch has filed the suit seeking to unseal the documents.
