Security Means Fewer Foreign Resort Workers

From Times Wire Reports
Ski resort officials say fewer jobs are being filled by foreign workers this season because of new, stricter national security screening policies.
Vail Resorts typically requests permission to sponsor about 1,200 employees covered by H-2B visas. This year, the company asked the Labor Department for 1,000.
Winter Park, Steamboat and Aspen also asked for fewer visas.
Requirements that all temporary visa workers apply in person at American consulates in their home countries are crimping international recruiting efforts.
