Gasoline Prices Edge Down Nationwide

The average nationwide price of gasoline fell less than a penny in the last week to $1.478 a gallon, the U.S. Energy Information Administration said.

The previous week, the average U.S. pump price for regular-grade gasoline was $1.485 a gallon, the agency said in its weekly report based on a survey of U.S. gas stations.

The highest regional prices were on the West Coast, where they fell 1.4 cents to an average of $1.579 a gallon. The lowest were in the Gulf Coast area at $1.408 a gallon.
