From Times Wire Reports

A federal appeals court rejected a request by former White House intern Monica S. Lewinsky that the government pay her attorney in the criminal investigation of President Clinton, who initially denied having a sexual relationship with her.

A three-judge panel said Lewinsky failed to show that the perjury and obstruction probe of Clinton would not have occurred except for the now-expired Ethics in Government Act.

The court did not say how much Lewinsky wanted but said that in the six months before she began cooperating with investigators, her attorney fees were more than $800,000.
