Landslide Threatens Two Luxury Homes

A landslide early Monday behind a house destroyed a patio and a pool, caused minor damage to several properties below and threatened to undermine two luxury homes with views of the Hollywood sign.
A waterline break apparently caused the steep hillside to collapse about 5 a.m., carrying away the patio area of one home and leaving its swimming pool teetering on the edge of the slide area, authorities said.
Officials said six homes below the slide also had some damage.
