Diss in the Dining Car

So Pauley got dissed by Ellroy. Actress Pauley Perrette was at last Thursday’s party for James Ellroy’s wife, Helen Knode, who was celebrating the release of her debut novel, “The Ticket Out,” at the Pacific Dining Car, a relic from another era if ever there was one. After getting an autograph from Knode, Perrette waltzed past David Duchovny and Bruce Willis and directly over to Ellroy, extended her hand and told him she’s a huge fan. In the words of Dionne Warwick, he just walked on by.... Dorscia, we hardly knew ya. The nightclub at the former location of Moomba in WeHo was shuttered last week and Glo Promotions is moving its Saturday-night shindig to Cyrano .... Pennywise is headlining Saturday’s “Punk Rock for Recovery” benefit at the Grove Theatre in Anaheim. The South Bay band is host of the fund-raiser for El Centro singer Steve Cabler -- a survivor of last year’s Bali bombing.... Bumped into Motochrist singer Danny Nordahl at the Pretty Ugly Club at Dragonfly. Nordahl says the band just completed an album co-produced by Foo Fighters and Counting Crows engineer Brad Cook. “Greetings From the Bonneville Salt Flats” is due on Heatslick Records in June. You can catch the band downtown at the L.A. Shakedown on Feb. 16 at the Variety Arts Center.

The shirt off her back

I bought the shirt off a club kid’s back. Underground designer Gabrielle Palmatier was wearing a T-shirt she’d made from 11 vintage Ts. The item was so hot, I begged her to sell it to me on the spot -- wine stains and all. I wore it to the Knode/Ellroy party and Blest boutique owner Christina Carey was so smitten with it, she ordered 80 items from the line the next day. Look for Boadicea clothing to hit Blest next week.
