Lack of Funds May Shut the Governor’s Mansion
From Times Wire Reports
The South Carolina Governor’s Mansion may have to close because of a $150,000 shortfall in operating funds.
Gov. Mark Sanford, a Republican, said he must either close the Columbia mansion until June 30 or raise private money to cover operating costs.
If the mansion is closed, Sanford’s family would live there but wouldn’t have a staff.
