Armed Burglar Surprises Boy in House
Simi Valley police were searching for a burglar who was armed with a handgun when he surprised a 12-year-old boy as the youth entered his home this week.
The burglar, wearing a mask, confronted the boy inside the residence in the 4600 block of Hempstead Street about 4 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
The burglar then ransacked the home and took jewelry, home entertainment equipment and a firearm, police said. He fled as the boy’s mother arrived home. No one was hurt. No vehicle was seen.
Neither the boy nor his mother was injured. An investigation is continuing, police said.
