U.S. Searches in South for Fugitive Taliban
From Times Wire Reports
The U.S. military said that in the last week it had expanded operations in an area of southern Afghanistan where fugitive leaders of the ousted Taliban regime could be hiding.
Col. Roger King at the U.S. headquarters at Bagram air base, north of Kabul, said troops launched Operation Viper several days ago in Helmand province, adding that seven suspects had been detained.
