Heron Island flap continues
Heron Island, Australia, is a haven for wildlife, and the black-capped noddies, whose (admittedly very pungent) odor Mike Berliner objected to (“Heron Island Is for the Birds,” Letters, Feb. 2), are the central feature of this gem of an island.
With a little broader research he could easily have anticipated the water temperatures, or he could have worn a wetsuit.
I spent two weeks on Heron Island some years back, and nothing since has equaled the pleasure of being that close to nature and the thousands of baby turtles that hatch there each year.
I suggest that the letter writer find somewhere sterile and disinfected for his next holiday.
