Van Dam Family Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit

The parents of Danielle van Dam filed a wrongful death lawsuit against her convicted killer Thursday, the day before he is to be sentenced.
The action seeks unspecified damages against David Westerfield, the neighbor convicted of kidnapping and killing the 7-year-old.
The jury that convicted the 50-year-old design engineer suggested he receive death. Superior Court Judge William Mudd today will either agree or sentence Westerfield to life.
