Don’t Let Rats Drive Out Island’s Native Animals
- Share via
Regarding animal activist Rob Puddicombe’s interference with the U.S. Park Service’s efforts to eradicate the nonnative rat population on Anacapa Island (“Anacapa Island Rats Should Be Removed,” Dec. 19):
I applaud the federal government for taking action in this instance.
What would Puddicombe have us do? Let these rats drive native species to extinction like they have in countless island countries worldwide?
I am surprised by the support this man is getting from conservation groups that I once thought of as legitimate, such as the Surfrider Foundation. Instead of a stint in prison, I suggest Puddicombe be sent for some counseling.
