Bad Music Is Reason for Poor CD Sales

Of course CD sales are down (“Record Retailers Face Music, Plan Closures,” Jan. 8). The new CDs are really bad.

I asked my 11-year-old son and his friend what music groups were cool, and they could not think of any. No self-respecting boy will listen to dancing boy bands or Britney Spears; no self-respecting parent will let their boys listen to Eminem or Blink 182.

There are kids who would love to buy a good CD, but for now, they’ll be hanging on to their money.
