Professor Ordered Held in Deadly Bacteria Scare

A university professor at the center of a scare over 30 missing vials of a deadly bacteria was ordered held without bond in Lubbock. Dr. Thomas C. Butler of Texas Tech University is accused of giving false information to the FBI about the vials, which had been destroyed.

The university has placed Butler on paid leave, changed the locks on his lab and blocked his computer access. He is prohibited from coming on campus should he be released on bail.
