Focus on Congestion
Re “Hahn Urged to Focus on MTA Role,” Jan. 14: At 8:30 a.m., traffic both ways on the 10 Freeway between West Los Angeles and downtown is a crawl. Metropolitan Transportation Authority buses are nearly vacant, the freeway is crumbling and no useful mass transportation is in sight. The photograph of Mayor James Hahn (Page B8) at a board meeting sums up our elected officials’ attitude toward relief of congestion: Let someone else worry about it.
