Luster Jurors in Weekend Recess
After its first full day of deliberations, the jury in the Andrew Luster rape case on Friday recessed for the weekend without reaching a verdict.
The five men and seven women received the case late Thursday after hearing closing arguments and instructions on how to apply the law. Jurors are expected to resume deliberations Tuesday.
Luster, 39, a self-employed investor and great-grandson to cosmetics magnate Max Factor, faces 87 criminal counts for allegedly using drugs to incapacitate and rape three women at his Mussel Shoals beach home. The charges include rape of unconscious victims, poisoning and drug possession.
Held under house arrest, Luster this month jumped bail and fled during the middle of his Ventura County Superior Court trial.
Local authorities are continuing their search but believe Luster may have fled the country.
