Oscar seat applications due

Applications are being accepted for seats in the bleachers to watch the movie stars parade into the Academy Awards show March 23.

That’s right -- applications. Because of security concerns, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences again is requiring Oscar fans to provide personal information about themselves and a recent photo.

Applications can be obtained at www.oscars.org/bleachers or by calling (800) 866-9197. Entries must be postmarked by Feb. 11. A drawing will be held March 3 to select the approximately 300 people who will get tickets to gawk and cheer.
