Bombs, Leaflets Hit Iraqi 'No-Fly' Zone

From Times Wire Reports

Warplanes taking part in a U.S.-British patrol over southern Iraq's "no-fly" zone bombed an air defense site Friday and dropped leaflets urging Iraqis to listen to American forces radio, the U.S. military said.

The planes used guided bombs to target an air defense command and control site near Al Haswah, the U.S. Central Command said. The planes bombed the site, about 35 miles south of Baghdad, because it posed a threat to patrols, the command's statement said.
