From Times Wire Reports

Six villagers died of asphyxiation in southern Egypt after the floor of a house collapsed into an underground sewage system, releasing poisonous fumes, the local security chief said.

The floor caved in suddenly when bride-to-be Safa Sobhi Ibrahim dragged furniture across her father’s house in the village of Abu Tig to move it to her new home, said the head of security of Assiut governorate, about 200 miles south of Cairo.

Noxious fumes from a sewage canal below the house escaped, killing Ibrahim’s sister, brother and four others. A seventh person was taken to a hospital.
