Restrictions on Small Housing Units Eased

Seeking an alternative to pricey homes, some areas of the county are easing restrictions on smaller “granny units.”
The changes create the potential to add hundreds of cottages and studio apartments to the county housing stock.
A state law requiring cities and counties to streamline the permit process took effect Tuesday.
