From Staff and Wire Reports

Ken Walker was found guilty Monday by a Los Angeles County Superior Court jury of second-degree murder for killing his wife’s 67-year-old mother.

Walker, 40, and his wife, Vanessa, were tried before separate juries for the 2001 slaying of her mother, Nada Lazarevic. The body was found in the Sequoia National Forest.

Acquitted of first-degree murder and conspiracy charges, Walker faces 15 years to life in prison when he is sentenced later this month. Last week, his wife was found guilty of second-degree murder. But because of her record -- she was convicted of voluntary manslaughter in 1989 for shooting her first husband to death -- she faces 35 years to life.
