Robert Klosterman, 56; Accountant, Onetime Mouseketeer
Robert “Bob” Klosterman, 56, one of the earliest Walt Disney Mouseketeers and an accountant who once headed Mary Tyler Moore Entertainment, died Tuesday of a heart attack in Eagle, Idaho.
A native of Lynwood, he grew up in Southern California and in Dallas, and earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Cal State Northridge. After a bout of polio at age 5, he was told to take dancing lessons -- and was soon invited to join the mouse-eared members of television’s “Mickey Mouse Club.”
As a Los Angeles accountant, he handled business affairs for Mary Tyler Moore, Marlon Brando, Ed Asner and Tom Hanks.
In 1991, he joined CBS/MTM Entertainment in Studio City, rising to chief executive. After negotiating the sale of MTM Studios to a British firm two years later, he became president and chief executive of MTM Entertainment, producing and distributing television movies.
He moved to Idaho later in 1993 to head Grand Slam Treasures.
